Some links on WattBackup are affiliate links. If you buy through one, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This disclosure is made under the US Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising, 16 CFR Part 255.
What an affiliate link is
An affiliate link carries a tracking code. If you follow it and buy something, the retailer pays us a percentage of the sale. You pay the same price you would have paid otherwise.
Where they appear
Affiliate links appear mainly in buying guides and comparison articles. They are marked in the page and carry the rel="sponsored" attribute in the underlying HTML, which is how search engines are told the link is commercial.
Where an article contains affiliate links, a short disclosure appears near the top of that article, before the first such link, rather than only here.
What a commission does not buy
- It does not buy a recommendation. Products are selected on the sizing and runtime analysis described in how we test.
- It does not buy a position. Rankings are not ordered by commission rate, and a product with no affiliate programme at all can and does win a recommendation.
- It does not buy silence. Where equipment has a real weakness, the article says so, whether or not the link earns anything.
We also do not accept payment from manufacturers for coverage of any kind. See our editorial policy.
Programmes
No affiliate programme is currently active on this site. This page will name each programme as it is approved.
Advertising
Display advertising is a separate thing from affiliate linking. Advertisements are served by a third-party network and their content is not chosen, endorsed or reviewed by us. How advertising data is handled is set out in our privacy policy.
